Fall Must Haves: Look good in leather

Leather looks good year-round, but let's be honest - when it's 90 degrees, the last thing you want is hot, sticky animal skin trapping the heat against your body. But now that it's cooling down, there are so many more options of what we can wear.

But at the same time, we don't want to be trapped in the hum-drum of a cold-weather uniform: cardigan, silk blouse, pencil skirt (I'm guilty of it - some (very sleepy) days, it's just too hard to think).

So why not vary the staples? Put some sass in your skirt. I am very into the look of a little bit of leather in a skirt. It's a little bit edgy and hard, but still professional.

Here are some of my favorite skirts* that fit the bill:

Theory leather ruched panel skirt, available at Neiman Marcus: $200

Alberto Makali knit and faux leather skirt, available at Nordstrom: $118

Elizabeth and James Hall paneled leather skirt, available at Bloomingdale's: $207

Funktional leather panel skirt in black, available at Revolve: $162

*Quick word of advice: Faux leather can be great - both for cost and for our furry friends; however, it can also look cheap. I've only spotted these skirts online, so I can't vouch for the quality of the faux leather. Beware of cheap looking faux leather (and fur, for that matter).
