A Birthday Post

Greetings from 25! I am so excited to celebrate my birthday tonight with some of my closest friends! After much deliberation, I ended up wearing the Robert Rodriguez Black Label sequined number - which you all voted for (though it was VERY close). So far, so good, Rent the Runway.

For now, I'm ended to brunch with my fiance and two of my best friends at El Centro DF (can we say bottomless food AND tequila? Ai yi yi! Let's hope I can still fit in my rented dress).

After that, I'm definitely checking out MidCity Dog Days. I really want to head to Muleh to check out their KILLER sales. Last year, I was thisclose to buying a 3.1 Phillip Lim jumpsuit but I just couldn't pull the trigger. This year, I'm not sure I'll be so resilient. Other boutiques like Junction, Urban Essentials and Rue 14 will have sales, and restaurants will have fun events and specials on food and drink!

There will be lots of fun happening up and down U Street and 14th Street, so be sure to check it out!

Mark Your Calendars: Bitches Who Brunch Summer Brunch Soiree

I'm excited: The lovely ladies over at Bitches Who Brunch are combining two of my favorite things - brunch and fashion - for a Summer Brunch Soiree at the delicious Ris in the West End. We're talking bottomless mimosas, gourmet passed small plates from a fabulous DC chef, fashion the uber-chic boutique Rue 14, tunes and more!

As if you needed more reasons to go, the event benefits a much-deserving charity, The DC Farm to School Network, which provides healthy, local, sustainable foods to DC area schools and educates children and families on nutrition, exercise, and environmental consciousness.

Fashion's Night Out hits DC!

Last year, I was incredibly enviable of my lucky NYC-based friends who got to experience Fashion's Night Out in the city. Designers, models, editors - the who's who of the fashion world - got together to promote the fashion industry with a big giant party.

This year, DC decided to get in on the fun (last year's attempt was little more than a whimper). On September 10, Georgetown, home to some of DC's best shopping, will host an "epic evening of fashion and entertainment featuring splurge-inspiring events at over 60 Georgetown stores, restaurants and salons in DC's style district."

Some of the do-not-miss events include:

• The Halston Heritage Trunk Show at Urban Chic with CityShopGirl from 5-11 pm, featuring signature cocktails and 10% of your new Urban Chic purchase. [More info]
• Alchimie Forever has free blueberry Facials, champagne, makeovers and more at their store on Wisconsin Ave.
• Personal fave CUSP on M Street celebrates Fashion's Night Out with a special, signature t-shirt with any purchase and DJ so you can rock out.
• Not sure how to wear fall's trends? Sangaree's in-house stylists will adorn you in the best fall clothes as you sip on delish FNO cocktails.
• Leave your male friends at Lacoste! The M Street store will have a Nintendo Wii tournament for a chance to win prizes while you check out what's new for fall.
• Shopped out? Visit the "vitaminwater zero hydration lounge” at Dean & Deluca on M Street invites you to relax, kick off your heels and sip a vitaminwater from 6-11 pm - They guarantee you'll feel re-energized for - what else - more shopping!

Of course, this is just a small sample of what Georgetown will have to offer next Thursday. I, for one, fully plan on taking a free pedicab ride after making a purchase. Be sure to get all the information here.
