Sunday Lust List: Spring Has Sprung

Technically, it's not quite yet spring, but it sure is in the air. Once Daylights Savings Time happens (did you remember to turn your clock one hour ahead today?), winter is all but over.

The warmer weather, the sun staying out just a little bit later, and the promise of fresh flowers, brunch on the patio and wearing sundresses - it all has me itching for all things spring. I'm thinking brights, patterns, florals... The list goes on. Nothing like a weather change to reawaken the sleeping shopping beast.

Agrigento Pearls and Nest Ring: $330

1. Tory Burch Robinson Satchel in Sake Gold: $550
2. Jack and Lulu Yellow Lattice Folding Note: $50 for 25
3. Madewell Silky Trouser Shorts: $78 (only in size 0 and 10... boo)

1. ALC Kate Linen Jersey Stripe Dress: $394
2. Jenni Kayne A Line Long Dress: $450
3. Diane von Furstenberg Reina Silk Jersey Shift Dress: $298

What tops your spring shopping list? I'll share my picks later this week!

Sunday Lust List: New Year's Resolutions

After a wonderful holiday with family and friends, it's hard to imagine asking for more.

This week, I wanted to focus on how I want to better myself throughout 2011 - how I can give more to myself through lifestyle changes and self-improvement. What I want for myself most in 2011 isn't a new Chanel purse (although that would be nice), but to make healthy living and smart choices - going to the gym, eating well, budgeting smartly - a subconscious part of who I am, rather than something I constantly strive to incorporate in my life.

My resolutions are overall mantras I want to follow throughout the year (and hopefully into the rest of my life). I also made quantifiable goals for myself. Not to get all preachy, but I think it's important to separate the two. How often do we punish ourselves when we fail on one of our "resolutions"? We skip going to the gym on January 20, and then we say "Well, there goes that resolution" and quit any healthful changes we may have made. Goals and resolutions keep us accountable in two different ways. This way, come December 31, 2011, I will be able to quantify certain changes in my life, as well as witness my qualitative mental changes.

I like to remember that these are all things for which I strive - I won't be perfect every step of the way.

So without further ado...

(I'm hoping to cross numbers 8 and 9 off this goal list ASAP!)

What are your resolutions for the new year? Do you separate goals and resolutions? Do you think resolutions are effective?

Sunday Lust List: Ring-a-ling

When it's cold outside - and especially when it's almost CHRISTMAS - there are two types of things I want to wear: tons and tons of warm sweaters and coats and something cheery to warm me up (bright colors and sparkles!).

Brochu Walker contrast cardigan, available at Shopbop: $625

APC cape with fur-lined hood: $392

Pierre Hardy color-blocked heels: $1470

Sunday Lust List

Weirdly enough, I haven't been lusting after too many clothes lately. Has my closet hit its threshold? Have I reached my fashion fill? Maybe I am finally the girl who has everything?

And I'm a lucky little girl if that's the case - well, I'm lucky anyway. I had been shopping for a pink dress to wear to the cocktail reception I co-hosted last Wednesday. But luckily for me, while in New Orleans, my super awesome mother bought me this little number.

Diane von Furstenberg Jori dress

Isn't this fab, flattering and so fun? Plus, it's the perfect pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

So I checked "new shift dress" off my Fall Shopping List (all that remains on the list are a black boyfriend cardigan and a fur vest).

But it wouldn't be Sunday without a list, so here are a couple things that have caught my eye lately.

Aryn K sequined cardigan, available at Piperlime: $86
Trina Turk Mirren Woodland Rose dress, available at Bloomingdales: $348

Missoni ballet flats, available at Yoox: $248

Bottega Veneta bangle: $31,000 (SERIOUSLY)

Sunday Lust List

From September into October, it's all about loading up on transitional pieces - pieces that don't scream summer but will work their way from the warmer temps of September but stay fresh (and warm) when you add tights, leggings, cardigans, etc. in October and beyond.

Here are some transitional pieces that I am dying over:

Velvet is a lot of look, but in small doses, it can be gorgeous. That's why I love this dress.
Winter Kate velvet minidress, available at Nordstrom: $395

Lace is huge for fall, and I just adore this J. Crew T. It's worth the price because it can be casual or dressy.

J. Crew lace tee: $11
Sherling is huge for fall. This is great because it's not going to be too hot and uncomfortable since it's a vest! I also like the idea of this belted.

Juliette Jake hooded sherpa vest, available at Intermix: $295

Lace like this is perfect because it's dainty and girly but can be totally edged out with the right accessories.
Modern Vintage lace dress, available at Piperlime: $152.99

Happy shopping!
